"Baz is back" - Hai la drum tour

Hai La Drum is a collaboration of four versatile musicians who met playing gypsy swing music in the late '90s. The line up is perfectly suited to playing traditional Romanian, Russian and other Balkan music. This tour also sees the exclusive return to UK of the Romanian Jazz Violinist Baz Stanescu. The shared experience of playing jazz allows them to interpret these more traditional forms and add improvisations and unusual arrangements.
The repertoire ranged from Romanian tunes to Russian classics and Django-style Gypsy swing. The warmth, camaraderie and ambience took us to another world, far from where we were.

Romanian gypsy violinist Baz Stanescu can trace his musical ancestry back 400 years and is surely one of the best European violinists of his generation. The band's set is high energy and includes jazz standards and original material as well.
