This talented young Romanian Pianist will be performing a programme in two parts with a short interval including works by Haydn, Debussy, Rachmaninov and Chopin.

Ancuta Nite is a young Romanian pianist whose talent was identified at the early age of 7 when she joined the piano class of Magdolna Cosma at the Specialist Music School in her home town. During her studies in Romania she won the first prize in the "Carl Czerny" National Competition, the "Musical Spring " Competition and the "Romantic Miniature" International Competition and Third Prize in the George Georgescu National Piano Competition.

These successes bought Ancuta's name to the attention of the Silvestri Foundation and in 2001 she won the Constantin Silvestri National Music Competition and was offered a full scholarship to continue her studies at The Mary Erskine School. Further details of the Silvestri Foundation can be found below or at www.constantinsilvestri.com.

Hospices of Hope was established in Romania in 1992 in the wake of the overthrow of Ceaucescu to provide Hospice Services and Palliative Care to terminally ill children and adults where none had existed before. Hospices of Hope, through its Romanian partner Hospice Casa Sperantei, is now collaborating with the Romanian Department of Health to develop hospice services as part of the mainstream of healthcare provision in that country.
