Vera Ion & Sorin Poama @ Attic Arts20 June - 19 August 2011
Vera Ion - theatre director and playwright, graduated from the MA Cross Sectoral and Community Arts, Goldsmiths College London and BA Theatre Directing, National University of Drama and Film "I.L. Caragiale" in Bucharest. At the RCI London she will work on the project Busk for Your Life! together with actor and playwright Sorin Poama. The project aims to document Romanian immigrants who work as street artists on Southbank and in Covent Garden. The results of the interviews and discussions will be used for a play that will be further developed in partnership with Firehouse Creative Productions in London. Sorin Poama - actor and playwright, winner of the Best Play Award for Ich Clown, Constantin Tanase Comedy Festival, 2010 and Best Actor Award, UNATC Gala, Bucharest, Cassandra Theatre, 2007. During the residency he will work with Vera Ion on the project Busk for Your Life! addressing the stories of the Romanian immigrants who work as street artists on Southbank and in Covent Garden, London.
