Bound to Art An exhibition showcasing the very best in Romanian graphic illustration and artist's books, including representatives of the most vibrant and diverse art book production. From the 1960s' generation of Geta Bratescu and Stefan Caltia to contemporary artists Dan Perjovschi, Daniel Knorr and many others, the works reveal how the genius of the writer and illustrator partnership enriches the story of the book. Why Are the Bells Ringing, Mitica? @ Romanian Cinematheque Do not miss Lucian Pintilie's masterpiece, Why Are the Bells Ringing, Mitica? (1981), one of the great arrested films of the communist Romania. The burlesque, fast paced and utterly subversive film was inspired by the great Romanian author, I.L. Caragiale.

Sundays on Leave @ Romanian Cinematheque We are proud to present Nae Caranfil's first feature film Sundays on Leave / E Pericoloso Sporgersi (1993), an intriguing and humorous story of three Romanians living in the grim circumstances of the late Ceausescu era. The film won the Critics' Award at Montpellier and the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs at Cannes in 1993.

Romania @ The London Book Fair For the fourth year in a row, the Romanian Cultural Institute, through the National Book Centre, presents Romania's stand at the London Book Fair. This year's special guests are celebrated writers Stelian Tanase and Mircea Dinescu, editor and author Florin Bican, and illustrator Gabriela Boiangiu. The MC is Radio 4's presenter Rosie Goldsmith. The programme will end on high note with jazz duo Teodora Enache (vocal) & Sorin Terinte (piano) and the artists' books exhibition Bound to Art, curated by Matei Caltia.

Schubert Ensemble's Enescu/Dvorák Series @ Wigmore Hall In the final concert of its three-concert Enescu/Dvorák series, the Schubert Ensemble, one of Britain's leading groups for piano and strings, performs Enescu's dark but luxuriously lyrical wartime Piano Quintet (1940) which was never performed in the composer's lifetime but cries out to be heard in live performance.
