 Cultural Diplomacy in the 21st Century

We are proud to be a part of the 2nd EUNIC Cultural Diplomacy Seminar (30 June - 1 July) that will bring together a wide range of personalities from the UK and international arts sectors, diplomats and journalists. Vitalie Ciobanu, a prominent writer and journalist from Republic of Moldova, will take part along with other cultural, artistic and diplomatic figures from Eastern Europe, in the Eastern Partnership seminar.

 Celebration

An exquisite musical journey celebrating the memory of composer and conductor Constantin Silvestri. The event is part of the Invitation to Composers project run by pianist and cultural animator Anda Anastasescu and co-funded by EU, aimed at encouraging young composers to write new works. Plus the launch of the book Constantin Silvestri, Magician. A View from the Orchestra by Raymond Carpenter and the screening of Constantin Silvestri conducting the French National Radio Orchestra.

Do not miss a suspenseful pseudo-crime thriller that follows three youngsters into a dangerous world. Made in 2001, this is critically acclaimed Cristi Puiu's debut feature film that changed Romanian cinema forever. Winner of FIPRESCI prize at the Thessaloniki Film Festival, best actor and best feature film.

 Active Witness - EUNIC exhibition of photography

The award-winning Romanian photographer Dana Popa takes part in the EUNIC exhibition Active Witness at Europe House, celebrating the European Year of Volunteering. The exhibition features 26 works by photographers representing 26 participating countries. Curated by Simon Baker (Tate Modern) and Ines de Bordas.

We are happy to continue our long-term partnership with St Martin in the Fields as music prodigy Andrei Licaret will perform in the Pianist of the World Series, a programme featuring talented young pianists from all the corners of the globe. Andrei's recital includes Enescu's Toccata and Pavana from Suite Op.10.

Painting, sculpture and installation from pioneers of Romanian experimental art of the late 1960s and their today's followers, in a rare, unmissable and eye-opening exhibition curated by Ileana Pintilie, former Attic Arts resident. Featuring: Stefan Bertalan, Roman Cotosman, Constantin Flondor, Liliana Mercioiu-Popa, Paul Neagu, Sorin Neamtu, Sasha-Liviu Stoianovici and Doru Tulcan.
