Three things to say:
  • April sounds a musical month: check out our offer in jazz, electronic, folk-ethno & classical in a broad swift. (Ace-up-sleeve revealed: we have lined up more big-name Romanian music this Spring – by popular demand & by our conviction that music speaks the most intelligible language across cultures Smiley)
  • Our attic space is ready to receive the new artists-in-residence, the design-savvy, self-named black-list Ioana & Maria
  • The Institute team is now 7 people strong: welcome to our two new colleagues Vlad & Gina!
What's on:
  • 1 - 30 April: Ioana Nemes and Maria Farcas (Liste Noire group) - Two visual artists take up residence at the Institute in the Attic Arts programme. Watch this space!

  • 13 April, 7 pm: Eurotica - A multimedia project by jazz pianist Mircea Tiberian and visual artist Suzana Fantanariu is taking us on a journey across European time & space.
    Where: Romanian Cultural Institute, 1 Belgrave Square, London. Admission: free.
  • 19 April, 8 pm: DJ Vasile @ Favela Chic Club - One of Romania's coolest DJ artists hits the London scene and plans more things to come at the Institute.
    Where: Favela Chic Club, 91- 93 Great Eastern Street, Old Street, Shoreditch, EC2, London.
  • 20 April, 7 pm: Foaie Verde @ Balkan Fever - A musical-visual journey through rural Transylvania, created for Opera North by award-winning photographer Dominick Tyler and musician Joe Townsend. Singer Dana Codorean-Berciu and four British musicians take you through beautiful landscapes and human stories.

  • 27, 28 and 29 April, 7 pm: Hai la Drum - Romanian & British team up in a swing jazz project on ICR-supported tour.
    Where: Presteigne (Wales), Newnham Forest of Dean (Gloucestershire), Le Quecumbar (London).
