There are many ways to look at Romania’s communist past: in dark anger or nostalgic longing or with a dry ironic smile; with lucid analysis of its absurdity & hardship; in a burst of burlesque laughter or in jubilation of a newly-found creative freedom.
This fortnight’s ICR events cut across all of this and more through the voices of some of Romania’s leading artists. Look closer; theirs are great stories!
