Romanian @ Language Show

The Romanian Cultural Institute participates for the third time at the Language Show - the UK's biggest event for language learners, language teachers, linguists and anyone with a passion for languages.

At its current edition, 160 exhibitors will take part varying from associations, cultural institutes, publishing houses specialized in dictionaries, embassies and ministries, foreign language schools, language research centers, media, tourism organizations, translators and interpreters, video and television courses, colleges and universities. The show will include 80 interactive presentations, seminars and lectures to be held in 20 different languages. Over 10.000 visitors are expected to participate at this year's edition.

Join us for:

• Exhibition stand with posters, leaflets, books, CDs with Romanian music and dictionaries. The stand has been organized in partnership with the Institute of Romanian Language, Bucharest. (Stand no 121)
• A Romanian love affair - interactive seminar and a virtual tour of Romania. The journey will start with the music of the taragot then will move from the painted monasteries of Bucovina, to rural Maramures, experience the shepherds and string bands of Transylvania and travel to the Black Sea coast. The participants will experience and try out basic Romanian notions and common phrases in an interactive and relaxed atmosphere. The seminar will be delivered by anthropologists Liz Mellish and Nick Green who have invited the Romanian folk ensemble Timisul with a piece of traditional music and dance. The event will be followed by Romanian wine tasting.
