Her multi-disciplinary practice recovers, collects, and disseminates information which has been inaccessible to Romania by 1989. Back to the Roots flamboyant music concert by 18-strong Damian&Brothers band led by Grammy-winner Damian Draghici. Re-launch The Institute has its re-launch party, celebrating the new arts&culture calendar in the UK and Romania’s forthcoming EU accession. Champagne & classic violin, rustling leaves from Hyde Park in lieu of red carpet and a film about the Institute’s new life at 1 Belgrave Square it appeared to have delighted our +200 guests. From Romania we had the honor to have H.-R. Patapievici, the President of the Institute and V. Naumescu, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs. From the UK, we had Adrian Greer, Director Creativity & Learning at British Council. Many thanks to our London friends for the photo-diary!

ICR: Under construction The Romanian Cultural Institute in London is under construction – in more ways than one.
We are renovating our Belgrave Square premises and we have also started “building” cultural partnership programmes in theatre, music, visual arts, film and ethnographic heritage.
Our calendar of events will be online from 3 October.

Arts networking With the building renovation still in full force, Simona Eftinoiu (flute) and Verona Maier (piano) gave us the most beautiful informal music concert in 1 Belgrave Square. The audience brought together Romanian artists living in the UK - musicians, visual artists, film-makers - who thoroughly enjoyed the concert & seemed happy to meet the ICR London team. They all promised "fingers crossed" for our forthcoming opening in November.
