Sparkling Young Pianist Kira Frolu Returns to the Romanian Cultural Institute

07/10/2020 @ RCI London

We welcome back aspiring and energetic young pianist Kira Frolu in our beloved George Enescu Hall, this time for an online recital on Wednesday, 7 October 2020 at 19:00. Get cosy with a glass of wine or your favourite cup of tea, and join us from the comfort of your home for a brief musical soirée.

After her recent successful performance for Radio Romania Cultural in September, Kira joined us at the RCI, reflecting extensive musicality and an array of autumnal colours through her chosen programme. Debussy’s melancholic movement of Estampes along with one of Chopin’s most delicate etudes will promise to transform your evening into an intimate and warm concert experience.

Programme:

C. Debussy: Estampes “La soiree dans Grenade”
F. Chopin: Etude Op.10 No.3

Kira Frolu is the prizewinner of several international competitions including “Chords of Khortitsa” and “Vladimir Krainev” (Ukraine), “Maria Tjarri” (Cyprus), “Pianale” (Germany), “Jeunesses Musicales” (Romania), “Young Pianists of the North” (UK) among others. She started her musical training in Bucharest and continued in London, at the Purcell School for Young Musicians (2016-2018) and is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music. Kira has already given solo recitals in many prestigious halls in London such as Wigmore Hall or Milton Court, and performed with Hertfordshire Schools Symphony Orchestra and ToruĊ„ Symphony Orchestra. In the future, Kira hopes to become a renowned solo and chamber musician, while getting involved in education and helping new generations pursue their musical careers.
