A fascinating and thought-provoking discussion with Elena Stancu and Cosmin Bumbut who are documenting the intricate experiences of Romanian diaspora in the UK. The portraits of the people they are meeting during their formative trip are diverse and genuine.

Elena Stancu and Cosmin BumbuČ› started working on a documentary project about the Romanian communities in the diaspora: they travelled to Spain, Portugal, Germany, Italy and England and met construction workers, artists, corporates, bartenders, restaurant owners, town hall counselors, housekeepers, teachers, priests, nurses, doctors, teachers. They published the stories on the website, a story-telling aggregator and co-created two documentaries. In 2017 they published Home, on the road, Humanitas. From January 2019, they started documenting the Romanian communities in the diaspora. After their trip is over, they will gather the portraits of the Romanians they have met and interviewed in a book entitled Plecat/ "Gone" that is to be published by Humanitas in 2022.
