GENERATION 2020 on the National Culture Day

15/01/2021 @ online | Website, Facebook page and YouTube channel

In an incredibly challenging year, with significantly fewer concerts, festivals, book fairs, exhibitions or other live events, the Romanian Cultural Institute aims at promoting young Romanian artists who took the cultural world by storm last year.

Generation 2020 is a rich hybrid of artistic perspectives celebrating the National Culture Day: poet Anastasia Gavrilovici, filmmaker Sarra Tsorakidis, actor Bianca Temneanu and food writer Irina Georgescu.

All four names were recognised through awards and visibility - Anastasia Gavrilovici won the prize of the Opus Primum section of the “Mihai Eminescu National Poetry Prize” for her volume “Industria liniștirii adulților” (January 2020),  Sarra Tsorakidis is the winner of the short film section of the Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF, August 2020), Bianca Temneanu has won the Grand Prize of the HOP Gala (the most important event dedicated to young professional actors, organised by UNITER, The Romanian Association of Theatre Artists) and Irina Georgescu is the author of the book “Carpathia”, which has been very well-received in the UK and the USA.

The event will take place online, via the RCI’s website and Facebook page, as follows:
