Dashing Soprano Laura Nicorescu at St Martin-in-the-Fields and St James’s Piccadilly

With a versatile musical delivery and a mesmerizing presence, Romanian soprano Laura Nicorescu is a true rising star of the international operatic realm. Don’t miss her two London debut recitals bursting with energy and exuberance, which will take place at St Martin-in-the-Fields and St James’s Piccadilly in October, with the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute.

The soprano will be accompanied by pianist Florian Podgoreanu.

The programme features works by Alban Berg and Christoph Willibald Gluck, as well as Romanian lieder by Valentin Teodorian, Carmen-Petra-Basacopol and Mihail Jora.


Laura Nicorescu attended the Universty of Music, Bucharest and Mozarteum University, Salzburg. After graduation, she became a member of the Opera Studio of the Bavarian State Opera. Her international career includes roles like Konstanze ('Die Entführung aus dem Serail'), and Despina ('Cosi fan tutte') at Vlaamse Opera, Belgium, Pamina ('Die  Zauberflöte') at Hof, Germany and Susanna ('Le Nozze di Figaro') at Theater Krefeld- Mönchengladbach, Germany and Bucharest National Opera. In 2016 Laura successfully gave her French debut as Zerlina in 'Don Giovanni' at Opera de Normadie.
