What is Romania!

24 - 31/12/2021 @ Romanian Cultural Institute in London - online

Join Tessa Dunlop and RCI London on a fascinating culinary adventure across Romania and discover a land of extreme climates and landscapes where producing authentic local food remains way of life. You will not only get an excellent insight into the history and culture of Romania, but the great story of a place that turns food into a symbol of hospitality.

From the foothills of the Carpathian mountains where cured meats, smoked fats and salted cheeses abound to the delights of the Danube Delta with its century’s old fishing culture and regional specialty - fish soursop – „ciorbă de pește” – not forgetting the garlic sauce „mujdei”, of course!

The wilds of Romania are baked into the nation’s finest dishes which are always served with an abundance of charm and „țuică” (plum brandy for those not in the know!) as Tessa found out when she visited Bucharest’s iconic restaurant @Carul cu Bere. Cheers and a happy Christmas to one and all!Join Tessa Dunlop and RCI London on a fascinating culinary adventure across Romania and discover a land of extreme climates and landscapes where producing authentic local food remains way of life.
