Romanians @ Eat Our Shorts 200819, 20 February 2008
Three young Romanian film makers are the guests of the 6th Nahemi - Eat Our Shorts Film Festival at BFI Southbank. Catalin Mitulescu, the director of The Way I Spent the End of the World and winner of the Cannes Festival Short Film Palme D'Or 2004, will screen and discuss his award-winning shorts Traffic, Bucharest-Vienna 8.15 and 17 Minutes Late. The documentary director Alexandru Solomon, author of the critically-acclaimed The Great Communist Bank Robbery presented on BBC 4 and Voyages Festival, will take part in the EOS 6 Documentary Debate that will screen excerpts from his documentary about Radio Free Europe, Cold Waves. The EOS 6 Documentary Debate is produced in collaboration with The One World Broadcasting Trust and Documentary Filmmakers Group. Catalin Cristutiu, one of the most talented editors in the Romanian film industry, will discuss his artistic involvement in completing Cristian Nemescu's California dreamin', awarded with Un Certain Regard at Cannes Film Festival in 2007. Cristutiu will also present Nemescu's rarely seen short C Block Story. The Eat Our Shorts Gala is dedicated to Young Romanian Cinema's New Wave and will feature:
