Attic Arts winners

The Romanian Cultural Institute brings to London artists in the residency programme Attic Arts: Andreea Valean, Ioana Nemes and Maria Farcas (Liste Noire group) and Dragos Olea. The programme is dedicated to Romanian professionals from various humanist fields. The first batch of artists who will be residing at 1 Belgrave Square from April 2007 are:

Andreea Valean, theatre director, playwright and manager of the dramAcum project. dramAcum promotes Romanian contemporary dramaturgy, through translations of and shows after plays by emerging Romanian authors such as Peca Stefan, Maria Manolescu, Vera Ion and many others. During the residency, Andreea Valean will work with Royal Court Theatre, Writernet Association and RCI London to initiate and develop partnership projects for translations, readings and plays from Romanian contemporary theatre.

Ioana Nemes and Maria Farcas (Liste Noire group), well known for their unique approach which combines visual art and interior design. They aim to get a creative correspondence between the aesthetics of the spaces, their function and the characters of their inhabitants. The most recent projects include the interior design of ADD, Rozalb de Mura and Ecumest spaces in Bucharest.
At the RCI London, the artists will explore a design project for the Institute and pursue new collaborations with British artists.

Dragos Olea, an arts manager and promoter, founder and president of ADD Association, active in development and promotion strategies of cultural projects. His professional experience includes the campaign of visual identity and public relations of Galeria Noua in Bucharest, an annual programme of capacity building for cultural institutions in Romania and research stages at Arts & Business and Arcola Theatre, London.
Dragos Olea will work with the RCI London to develop the existing contacts with Arts & Business, Arcola Theatre, and British Fashion Council and to initiate new projects.
